Hogar Tierra Santa is composed of a main home area and 5 satellite properties, all located in the same neighborhood of La Villa San Antonio.
Hogar Most of the children live in the main Hogar, which is composed of buildings constructed in a rectangular ring with a large yard in the middle.
These buildings contain the dorm rooms where the small children and girls live, Administration and Executive Director offices, kitchen and dining room, bathrooms, laundry room, storage rooms, library and computer room, dental and medical clinic, and a small clothing store. The colorful yard includes lots of trees and benches, a swing set and a small basketball court.
Casa de Varones #1 We rent a separate house adjacent to the Hogar for the little boys from 6 to 15 years old.
Casa de Varones #2 The older boys live in another rented house next to the Hogar.
Comedor "Caras Alegres" We run a community outreach program that provides nutritious meals for the poor children in La Villa San Antonio. The program is called "Caras Alegres" or "Happy Faces" and is run out of a small room we built about a block away from the Hogar. A covered garage is set up with chairs outside the Comedor to serve as the dining area.
Escuela Tierra Santa We own and operate an elementary school that serves both the children from the Hogar and children from the town. The school is about a block and a half away from the Hogar.
Terreno The Hogar is in the process of developing a small farm on some land a few kilometers outside of town. We call this land the Terreno, and our farm is referred to as the Agriculture Project. We grow a variety of crops at the Terreno, such as corn and pataste, we have plantain and mango trees, and we raise pigs and goats. There is a small lagoon on the land where we raise tilapia fish as well.
