Meet Our Children

 Rosa January Lobos Bargas joined the Hogar after being taken away from her family and brought to us by Honduran social services (IHNFA) because she was being physically abused by her mother and older brother. Rosa was born with a deformed right foot and at some point will have to undergo corrective surgery and then physical therapy to improve her ability to walk.

Rosa was born in El Paraiso, Danli. She has never been enrolled in school because she had to take care of her younger brothers and sisters, but this year she started 1st grade at the Tierra Santa School.

Rosa joins the other girls in the Grandes area and says that she likes the Hogar a lot because she feels safe and knows that no one will hurt her here.

Here are some of Rosa’s favorites: her favorite food is rice with salad, favorite color is yellow, favorite TV show is Mickey Mouse and favorite animal is the lion. She likes the singer Thalia and Christian music, and in her free time she likes to read. Rosa likes Math class the best and when she grows up she wants to earn a degree in General Medicine. At some point in the not-too-distant future, Rosa wants to have her own house where she can go and live happily.
